Thursday Picture Fun

Happy Thursday peeps!  

Today is my Friday, woo hoo.....becauseeeeeee, tomorrow is the day of my birth!  It's ok if you shipped my gift and it doesn't make it by tomorrow.  But I will crushed if I don't receive all my gifts by Saturday!  KIDDING!!!  Takin' off work to go play on my birthday! 

The Hollywood Housewife posted some good stuff today on her site. 

Her post is about printing pictures you have taken with your iPhone.....and all the new little fancy pants apps that alter your pics to make them look amazing.

There is an app/website that you can go to and order prints of your 4x4 pictures.  It's called Postal Pix.  I have not personally used this site, it just sounds very easy to use.  If you do snap that amazingly awesome pic with your phone, now you can have it printed true to size.

I don't take tons of pictures with my iPhone, but a lot of people do.  IPhone photographers seem to be obsessed with Instagram.  Personally, my fave is Hipstamatic.      

Anyway, just thought I'd share that little tidbit in case you were like, OMG, I am an amazing photographer with my phone!

Whatever Wednesday...Stalker, sorta...

As I have posted before, I know what it takes to be a stalker. 

Maybe stalker is a harsh word, but I'm just trying to befriend those that I like and admire!

Anyway, at the Shock games, you can't really meet these awesome players, you just have to photo stalk with your camera.  

My poor Shock team, they're not doing too well this season in the WIN department, but they do have some great players and basketball is the greatest sport ever on the planet, so I will support them. 

Having a WNBA team in town, means visiting teams with some awesome players.  When the Phoenix Mercury came to town last week, this meant Diana Taurasi came to town.  I was a huge fan of hers when she played for Connecticut and they went undefeated/national champions over and over.     

So, there's Diana (in the middle) on the bench, pre-game, probably asking her teammates,

 "I wonder if Ang is here at the game?"

Yo, D, I'm right here! :)

Last night, the Atlanta Dream came to town.....Former OU great, Courtney Paris plays for them.  I had to photo stalk Courtney from afar.  Momma wanted to know why she didn't get free tickets from Courtney, because she is one of her BIGGEST fans.  Sorry Momma, maybe next time.....she didn't hook me up with tix either.

BUT, I did manage to see/meet/stalk Ashley Paris (who also played for OU), Courtney's twin sister, in the lobby while we were waiting in line for tickets.  She was very nice and agreed to taking a pic with me. 

Also, we ended up sitting near Ashley, and I am no the only one who stalked, wanted to meet her.  I saw a lady go up to her and ask for an autograph.  Whew, I'm not the only stalker in Tulsa, ha!

The Shock got a new player in the past week, Abi Olajuwon (on the left, in yellow).  She also played for OU.  And, yes her father is THE Hakeem Olajuwon.  That girl is from basketball GREATNESS!!!   

I will leave you with this....sorry it's blurry, but this dude was HILARIOUS!  He would hold up signs and do a god awful dance of hip thrusts when the other team was shooting free throws.  His stomach said "Shocking"......he was quite the character to say the least!

Custom Paint!

As I posted last week, custom canvases are done!  So, here they are!  

My friend Carol Ann ordered this one for her lake house.  She of course, wanted me to include OU!  :)

My next project is HUMONGOUSLY LARGE to say the least!  ha!  Carol Ann's boyfriend has a LARGE, round wooden table that he wants painted.  This sucker is BIG.....it's just bigger than anything I've ever painted before is why I am freakin' on it's size.  Right now it's just the table top, he is going to make it into a table after it's painted.  Anyway, some friends of his "made" it for him, it has the Harley Davidson emblem/logo "carved" into the table top.  It is really very cool.  I am taking pictures of it as I go, it's only primed right now, but will post the progress and final product later!

Whatever Wednesday....Rant!

Happy Wednesday Peeps! 

Not to get all Debbie Downer on ya, but I am frustrated. 

I am frustrated with my workouts and my lack of losing weight. 

I know I'm not going to be Elle McPherson or Cindy Crawford, but throw a girl a bone......have some mercy on a sista!  My workouts are HARD, five days a week, and I like that, but I am just not seeing it as numbers on the scale.  I refuse to completely murder myself in the gym, I am just having a hard time balancing weights/cardio right now.  I'm down about four pounds in the past few weeks which is good, but I just feel like it should be more.  The scale isn't the perfect way to look at things, but for me a number makes a difference.  Where is my sugar daddy when I need him to buy me personal training for the rest of my life???  For real..... :) 

My body is changing, I feel like I am uber stronger than I've been in a really long time, so the culprit has to be my diet.  I don't eat horrible, but I don't eat perfect either.  Mind you, I do not eat fast food and a bunch of fried crap or tons of sugar.....that just makes me feel all swollen from all of the sodium and gives me a tummy ache.  I really do eat pretty clean, processed foods are kept to a minimum.  Unless you count store bought hummus, processed, hehe. 

My next strategy is to go back to low carb.  Strategically mix in some good carbs.....I eat carbs now, I just think it's too much.  It's worked in the past and I'm hoping it'll work again.  

I know everybody is different, how they process carbs, protein, fats.  BUT, I will tell you, LISTEN to me when I say, your shizzle changes when you get older!  Meaning your metabolism SLOWS DOWN, A LOTTTTTT.  It just does!!!  I am getting older, my birthday is next week (ahem, start shopping), and I will be 38.  I know, I know, I don't look a day over 25, but thank you, hehe.  So, just a heads up for you young 'uns out there, it only gets harder as you get older!!!!  

That wasn't too much of a rant, I don't think, but am just voicing the opinions of the head of the White House and her current state of mind.....her mind is a scary place to be! 

On a totally random note, I am working on two custom canvases for a friend.  They're almost done, I will def post them when I'm done!

Second random note, my sista is preggers with baby #3!  She just told us all last week and we're all very excited for their expanding family!  I get to be Aunt Angie again, yay!

It's not like this is shocking information.....I think we are all just a little tired of the excessive amount of heat.  It's been going on since late June.....doesn't sound like very long, but I'm here to tell ya my friends, when you have temps over 100 day after day, it's A.LONG.TIME! 

It's sad when it's too hot to go to the pool....it's just not even fun.  The pool is meant to cool you off, but it's not very cooling when the pool feels like warm bath water.  Booooo.    

The news said this morning that over the entire summer, there is an average of 11 days over 100 degrees.  So far, we have already had 14 days over 100.  Really??!!  Thanks weatherman.  I know, don't shoot the messenger.  

So, if you are in the vicinity of northeastern Oklahoma, I know you are suffering too.  Hang in there, drink lots of water and stay inside and keep cool!!!

Culture.....Part 3 (Tochchi'na)

Hi again Friends!

I'm back for the third and final installment of Chickasaw Culture! 

As listed in the title of this post, "Tochchi'ina" means "three" in Chickasaw language.

Original painting by Chickasaw artist, Mike Larsen, titled, "The Arrival".

Symbolizing the celebration of the time when the Chickasaw people arrived at their new land/home after migrating from Mississippi.

A little more background on Mike Larsen:  He painted Native American ballerina's in the rotunda of the Capitol building in Oklahoma City. 

I've seen it in person and it is gorgeous. 

Spirit Forest.

Not a great pic, but it was very cool! 

The interactive element was awesome! 

You could hear thunder, rain, animal noises.

Art, and lots of it. 

I love it all, it was all so amazing.

There are so many talented Chickasaw artists. 

Painting, clay structure and bead work are displayed throughout the center.

This is done by Mike Larsen as well. 

It's hard to tell in the picture, but the "map" behind the man is of early Indian Territory.

He was the first Native American to fly into space. 

And he's a Chickasaw! :)

The Stomp Dance.

....is awesome. 

This interactive "room" is circular and you are surrounded by tall screens. 

On the screens are the illusion that the people are "dancing" and the chanting is playing overhead as well.

 There is of course a simulated "fire" in the center of the room.

I hope everyone enjoyed the culture.  I am so proud of my heritage and love learning more about it.  If you are in the area, the Cultural Center is definitely worth checking out.
