MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Wishing everyone a very merry and blessed Christmas.  I had a wonderful evening last nite, Christmas Eve, with family and friends.   There was tons of great food, wonderful gifts, and and abundance of laughter! 

The most important things in life aren't "things", for unto us a Savior is born.

Bittersweet.....

Don't get me wrong, I love the holidays.  Now, as an adult anyway.  As a kid it's hard to understand all that the Christmas really stands for besides how many gifts under the tree with your name on them, Santa, milk, cookies and Rudolph.  I remember as a kid you ~could not~ wait to just rip into every single gift under the tree as quickly as possible!  I was very blessed to have gifts every hear to "rip" into!  But, truth be told, the holidays have always had a somewhat bittersweet feeling for me.  My parents were divorced when I was very young.  I was always on a "clock" during the holidays, when I had to go here or there.  That's mostly what I remember when it came to the holidays, where I "had" to go and when.  It was always I was being picked up by Dad at this time, or got to go back home to Mom's at this time.  Honestly, it was VERY hard to be away from my Mom on either Thanksgiving or Christmas.  Granted, I had a safe place to go with food, gifts and shelter, as many in the world did not.  But, looking back, I am able to appreciate family and the times we have together even more.  I know things could always be much worse.  I could be in the war zone in Iraq or Afghanistan, worlds away from my family on Christmas.....I could be in another part of the country and financially unable to visit my family at Christmas......there are many scenarios that people are dealing with this holiday season and are unable to be with their loved ones at Christmas.  Not to be Debbie Downer, I just wanted to share that I'm in a way "lucky" to have been on the "holiday schedule" as a youngster, it only helps me appreciate things even more now.

Taking Pics In Target

Yes, I took some pics in Target!  It's just that I love Hello Kitty and the Paul Frank monkey!  It was just too fun and the deco in the children's section was calling my name.....here is what I saw.

After Thanksgiving.......

The week after Thanksgiving I was tired and cranky.  I don't know why, but I was.....sometimes I just get that way.  It's crazy how things are so quickly put into perspective for your cranky self.  I was at Michael's craft store the weekend after Thanksgiving, I had $5 coupon that I HAD to spend before it expired.....the line was ridiculous, but I stood and waited.  Behind me in line, was a woman and her son.  I noticed her son had what I thought was a cast on his arm.  I said, "Oh no, he hurt his arm and has a little cast," and his mother said, "no, he wears it to help his hand."  I then said, "so it's like a brace?", she replied, "Yes, it's a brace, he has cerebral palsy."  I proceeded to tell her that one of my favorite people on the planet has Cerebral Palsy.  We then started talking about all kinds of things from physical therapy, speech therapy, to his school.  The lil guy (I didn't get his name :-( ) told me he attended the Little Light House and was in the purple class, he was SO proud.  I asked him if the purple class was the neatest class in school, and he of course replied with an energetic YES!, as he so tightly held his box of candy canes.  His mother also told me he was born with only half a heart and my jaw dropped.  These lil guys have faced so many obstacles, on a minute to minute basis, and they do it smiling.  We have no idea what their little bodies feel like on a daily basis, but this is all they know and they charge on and on and on.  I am blessed to have been able to visit with this woman and her 4 year old with Cerebral Palsy in line at Michael's......it really made me smile seeing him smile.  

I don't get to spend alot of time w/ Sean and his family, but the time we get to hang out is always fun. When I first met Sean he was 3 and had a walker, now he charges all over the place unassisted.  His mom invited me over this summer to go swimming.  I had a BALL with him in the pool.  He is truly a little fish, he loves to swim.  He rode piggy back on my back for a long time and he had as much fun as I did.  He wanted me to dive in, off the side, with him on my back, I thought, Ummmmm, I don't think that's such a good idea, he just laughed and asked, why not?  A few days later after swimming, his dad and uncle both thanked me for coming over and going swimming with him, and they told me that was so nice of me.  I was completely shocked that they thanked me.  That kid melts me, any time I can hang with him is awesome to me. His smile and spirit make my heart just sink, he's an awesome lil guy.

~The FIRST Blog!~

I can't believe it but I'm going to blog!.....~NEVER~ thought I'd say that one!  I always thought Blogger's were "weird", like only tech-y type people, way smarter than me people, blogged.  But in this technological day and age, the blogosphere has exploded.  I've discovered there are many different reasons people blog, and I have found many different types of blogs to follow.....like a family's journey with melanoma, craft blogs, DIY blogs, photography blogs, my sister's blog, etc. 

I'd like to use my blog for my to show creative side.....to display my latest and greatest "works" and projects.  I'm sure I'll also have some "deep thoughts" to share somewhere in between creating.  So, thanks for reading my first ever blog!  Be a follower and check back soon!
