Not to get all Debbie Downer on ya, but I am frustrated.
I am frustrated with my workouts and my lack of losing weight.
I know I'm not going to be Elle McPherson or Cindy Crawford, but throw a girl a bone......have some mercy on a sista! My workouts are HARD, five days a week, and I like that, but I am just not seeing it as numbers on the scale. I refuse to completely murder myself in the gym, I am just having a hard time balancing weights/cardio right now. I'm down about four pounds in the past few weeks which is good, but I just feel like it should be more. The scale isn't the perfect way to look at things, but for me a number makes a difference. Where is my sugar daddy when I need him to buy me personal training for the rest of my life??? For real..... :)
My body is changing, I feel like I am uber stronger than I've been in a really long time, so the culprit has to be my diet. I don't eat horrible, but I don't eat perfect either. Mind you, I do not eat fast food and a bunch of fried crap or tons of sugar.....that just makes me feel all swollen from all of the sodium and gives me a tummy ache. I really do eat pretty clean, processed foods are kept to a minimum. Unless you count store bought hummus, processed, hehe.
My next strategy is to go back to low carb. Strategically mix in some good carbs.....I eat carbs now, I just think it's too much. It's worked in the past and I'm hoping it'll work again.
I know everybody is different, how they process carbs, protein, fats. BUT, I will tell you, LISTEN to me when I say, your shizzle changes when you get older! Meaning your metabolism SLOWS DOWN, A LOTTTTTT. It just does!!! I am getting older, my birthday is next week (ahem, start shopping), and I will be 38. I know, I know, I don't look a day over 25, but thank you, hehe. So, just a heads up for you young 'uns out there, it only gets harder as you get older!!!!
That wasn't too much of a rant, I don't think, but am just voicing the opinions of the head of the White House and her current state of mind.....her mind is a scary place to be!
On a totally random note, I am working on two custom canvases for a friend. They're almost done, I will def post them when I'm done!
Second random note, my sista is preggers with baby #3! She just told us all last week and we're all very excited for their expanding family! I get to be Aunt Angie again, yay!

I ferl your pain in the metabolism. Getting old is ridiculous. I sent a little something for your bday back with mimi. She liked it too so make sure you get it! :)
ReplyDeleteI have been where you are at. A million times. it's almost like when I hit the 'magic' number 148...all things stop. I can still work out and eat the best, but the weight loss gods just laugh at me and say, "no weight loss for you! Hehehe." asses.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, just keep doing what you're doing. no one can promise: eat better=weight loss; exercise more=weight loss. It's just you gotta find that right mix.
You know things you can do to jump start it, like added exercise or even eating 'more'. maybe you're not getting enough calories. I hate metabolisms.

Ugh, i hear you loud & clear girl. I hate how it's super easy for some people to drop weight....and seemingly impossible for others! I'm pretty sure my metabolism has up & left me.
