Whatever Wednesday...Waggles For Wyatt

Woo-Hoo Wednesday!  I was trying to see how many "W's" I could fit into today's post title.
Just kidding, please read on about sweet Wyatt!

I received an email about a benefit golf tournament for a very special little boy.

His name is Wyatt.

I have not had the privilege of meeting Wyatt, but I know his family.  They are from the community where I grew up and went to school.  Even though I have never met him, his story has struck a chord with me.  I don't know what it is, but I would like to help however I can.  At the very least, I plan to volunteer at the golf tournament in June.

Wyatt was born on October 30, 2010 with several major health issues.

The information below in an email from Stacey, who is coordinating the golf tournament.  This will explain Wyatt's health issues.....

"He was born with several major health issues.  First being a heart defect (HLHS) which can be fixed with a series of heart surgeries as he grows.  They just completed the second one and he is doing awesome.

The other, more serious issue, is he has a chromosome disorder, Trisomy 16q.  This is a very rare chromosome disorder, so rare, that Wyatt is pretty much writing his own story at this point.  They spent the first few months of his life at the St. Francis Children's Hospital, they got to go home right before Christmas.  Just recently, he was readmitted due to some complications, right before his second heart surgery.  They also performed a tracheotomy that will improve his overall health allowing him to breath with less effort and let this baby heal faster and grow stronger.

Her former employer is holding a benefit golf tournament “Waggles for Wyatt”  to help with medical expenses and ease the stress , so that they can focus their energy on Wyatt.

Here’s where you come in J.  You can help in several ways.... you can play golf (or recruit golfers) or you can be a sponsor (or recruit sponsors).   We are also having a dinner and silent auction that evening.  If you don’t golf but want to participate, join us for dinner (please send in a registration form for your dinner).  The silent auction will be awesome.  We will have baskets from some major sports teams, restaurant gift certificates, an outdoorsman basket and lots of other goodies.

We would love for you all to be involved.  If you can participate in any way, please let me know.  You can also check out Wyatt’s progress on his Facebook page, Praying for Wyatt Griffith."

If you can send prayers or would like to be involved in any other way, please email me for details at whitehouseblog32@gmail.com

Until next time, peace out!
